Welcome to What Works Equine Solutions. We develop and manufacture horse health care products. Our bath rinse and liniments were developed over the last several years for our own use. Once we were satisfied we had an excellent product, we modified the formulations into 2 lines: one for use in training and one for use in competition. The products are identical between lines except that the competition line formulas are modified to enable compliance with the current banned substance lists.
The original “Training” line was developed to relieve the muscle tension and strain incurred in training and competition. These solutions also reduce inflammation, help resolve bruising and swelling and increase circulation. Additional benefit is found in the calming effect of lavender.
The formula was modified for use on horses in competition, recognizing that all Equestrian Federations have banned certain substances for use on these horses. The “Competition” line is free of banned substances, as of the Jan 2005 lists, yet retains its efficacy as a liniment preparation: warming, increasing circulation, reducing swelling, soothing tired muscles and joints. We recommend that you change over from the Training formulas to the Competition formulas 1 week prior to competition.
A “T” appears on the cap of each bottle of Training formula product for easy recognition to avoid accidental use on competing horses. A solid dot appears on the caps of Competition products.
We recommend that all competitors keep themselves informed as to the latest lists of banned substances published on Equestrian Federation websites. While we do keep abreast of changes to those lists, please do notify us by e-mail should you see additions to those lists of substances contained in our Competition products.
